Community Guidelines

Binomy works because people can trust what they read and who they talk to. These guidelines apply to every listing, profile photo and message. They are part of our Terms of Service.

Be honest

• Describe the place as it is: the real price, address, number of rooms, free spots and rules.
• Keep availability up to date. Pause or mark a listing as rented as soon as it is no longer free.
• Use your real name and your own photo on your profile.

Be respectful

• No insults, threats, harassment or discrimination, including on the basis of origin, religion, gender or disability.
• If someone stops replying or turns your request down, leave it there.
• Keep messages about the housing you are discussing.

No scams

• Never ask for, and never pay, a deposit, an advance or a "reservation fee" before visiting the place in person.
• Do not list a property you do not have the right to rent out.
• Do not ask for identity documents, bank details or codes in chat.
• Be wary of prices far below the area, pressure to decide at once, or a landlord who cannot show the place.

Photos

• Listing photos must show the property itself and must be yours to publish. No stock images, no photos taken from another listing.
• Nothing sexual, violent or shocking, anywhere in the app.
• Do not post photos of people without their consent, and never of children.

Respect other people's privacy

• Do not share another person's phone number, address, photos or messages outside the conversation without their permission.
• Do not use Binomy to collect contact details for advertising or anything unrelated to housing.

Reporting and blocking

If something breaks these guidelines, tell us from inside the app. Reports are confidential: the person you report is not told who reported them.

• A listing: open it and tap Report listing at the bottom of the page.
• A person in a conversation: open the chat, tap the menu at the top right, then Report user or Block user.
• A single message: press and hold the message, then choose Report.
• A person who sent you a rental request: open their profile card from the request and use the menu at the top right.

Blocking someone stops them from messaging you and hides their listings from you. If you believe someone is in danger, contact the police first.

What happens when guidelines are broken

We review every report. Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, warn the account, suspend it, or delete it permanently. Accounts created to get around a suspension are removed too. Suspected fraud may be reported to the authorities.
